University Of Aberdeen Students Visit Biomass Unit
The Leys Estate warmly welcomed students from Aberdeen University to the Hill of Banchory biomass unit as part of their MSc Oil & Gas studies.
The group toured the main biomass unit where Michael Bott, from Leys Estate, told the group about the development of the Hill of Banchory area and how the heating network – which is operated by HoBESCo (Hill of Banchory Energy Supply Company) – services many of the residential and commercial units in the area.
The network currently supplies heat to residential dwellings, office buildings, several industrial units, a micro distillery, a car wash and the recently opened Banchory Sports Village.
