Leys Estate Continues Partnership Working With Banchory Academy
At Leys Estate we are committed to developing educational links with the younger generation, supporting new businesses, young entrepreneurs and working across community groups.
As part of our Education Strategy, over the past 12 months we have strengthened links with Primary and Secondary Schools within the local community; including Banchory Academy.
Last week, members of the team attended the Academy’s S4 Skills Day along with representatives from Banchory Lodge Hotel, WMDonald, Ramsay & Chalmers, AAB, Grant Considine and RGU School of Law.
The day encouraged pupils to reflect on the skills developed in general education, to consider the skills required for the senior phase of their education and raise awareness of employment opportunities and the various pathways to different careers.
Mhairi Robertson delivered the Welcome Talk to pupils, focussing on the four key skills for the day: communication, problem solving, self-management and working with others.
Representatives then joined pupils for various activities based on sustainability and team building before taking part in Q&A sessions which allowed pupils to ask the team any questions they had about further education, job interviews, their particular roles and career paths.
