Leys Estate Brings Outdoor Learning To Crathes Primary School
Pupils from Crathes Primary School welcomed Leys Estate to their school early in December for an outdoor workshop in the winter sun.
During the session Mhairi Robertson, Land & Property Assistant and Craig Henshaw, Head Gamekeeper, brought cover crops, soil carbon sequestration, hedgerows and biodiversity to life. The activities also linked to the children’s recent projects focused around the COP26 summit.
Crathes Primary School is just one of the schools and community groups that the estate engages with via its Education Strategy which aims to bring the countryside to life, promoting the diversity of jobs in the sector and the important role estates play in land and wildlife management, the environment and the local community.
