In May 2019, Deeside Rugby FC under 14s welcomed children from Martignas which hails from the town twinned with Aboyne in France. The visiting team enjoyed a number of activities including a BBQ at Knockburn Loch, orienteering at Burnett Park, rugby matches at Woodend after the Minis/Micro tournament, a ceilidh, as well as visiting the Pipe Band Championships and their very own Highland Games at Kincardine Castle.

The Leys Estate was delighted to support the weekend’s activities by donating venison towards the BBQ. Something which was a first for many of the French visitors.

In 2020 the Deeside under 14s will head to Martignas.
