Banchory Academy Careers Fair
Following a three year break due to the pandemic, Banchory Academy hosted its first in-person Careers Fair for S4-S6 pupils.
Leys Estate Group was amongst 50 companies, organisations and universities on the night showcasing the diverse range of careers open to students within the north-east and beyond.
Attending on the night was Craig Henshaw, Head Gamekeeper, David Smart, CEO, and Susanne Shepherd, Communications & Marketing Manager. The event forms an important part of Leys Estate Groups Education Strategy which focuses on how the Estate can educate future generations about the important work carried out on a daily basis by modern working Estates and the wide range of career opportunities available.
The team spoke about their individual career routes and the diverse range of jobs the Estate offers from finance to administration roles, leisure management and greenkeeping to communications and marketing. Craig Henshaw was kept busy on the night speaking with a number of students who were interested in finding out more about wildlife management, game keeping and forestry management.
Both students and their parents and carers were very interested in finding out more about Leys Estate and the team found the evening an enjoyable and worthwhile event.
As a result of the event we are looking forward to welcoming students for work experience placements over the coming months.
