190 Clan Members Enjoy Week Of Celebrations In Deeside
Between 30th July and 6th August 2023, more than 190 members of Clan Burnett travelled to Deeside to experience a week of special activities as part of the Burnett of Leys 700 anniversary celebrations.
Although the Scottish weather wasn’t entirely on our side, everyone enjoyed a truly special week, celebrating shared heritage and creating lasting memories and connections. From a traditional ceilidh at The Barn to informative talks about the history of Clan Burnett and genealogy, the Burnett Gathering marries a mixture of tradition and history with exploration, new experiences and friendships.
Guided tours took guests to points of interest out with Banchory and Crathes including Scone Palace and St Andrews, Glenlivet Distillery, Alford Transport Museum, Ballindalloch Castle, Braemar and Balmoral Castle.
At Crathes Castle, guests enjoyed tours of both the property and gardens, an inter-clan croquet match and ghost tour.
Other activities included a trip to Aberdeenshire Highland Beef, Aboyne Games and a special re-enactment of the Battle of Corrichie during an action packed week of activities.
