At the end of October 2024 we said farewell but not goodbye to Jim Forbes after a length and devoted service to both Leys Estate and the Burnett family.

Jim retired after 56 years working on the Estate, during which time he formed close bonds with both the Burnett family, all teams and those living and working across the Estate.

Jim left school on a Friday and started work on the Estate on the Monday and, in Jim’s words “he never looked back”.

Jim added: “It has been an absolute pleasure to work with everyone throughout the 56 years. It means a lot that you have all come together today to mark this occasion with my family”.

Jim is looking forward to spending more time with his family, walking the dog and relaxing at the family’s caravan.

Jim received gardening gift vouchers and a commemorative glass, as well as a very special cake from the family and colleagues.
