Weather Warnings In Place As Aberdeenshire Braces For Storm Babet
The Met Office has issued an Amber weather warning from 6am Thursday until 6pm on Friday for very strong south easterly winds and exceptional rain fall for Aberdeenshire, including the Banchory and Crathes areas. This has been upgraded to a Red weather warning for the south of Aberdeenshire.
With winds expected to gust up to 70mph and heavy and prolonged rainfall we ask that people avoid visiting Estate woodland during this time due to the increased risk of fallen or hanging trees.
Please also take extra care if visiting wooded areas in Hill of Banchory where hanging trees may present a risk to walkers during high winds.
With severe flooding expected in places we also advise against people visiting the banks of the River Dee or other watercourses on the Estate while the weather warnings are in place.
