North-east Farm Women’s Association Estate Visit
Members of the Leys Estate Group team were delighted to welcome members of the North-east Farm Women’s Association to Leys Estate in August.
The group enjoyed a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the Hill of Banchory Energy Centre which houses biomass boilers providing a source of heat to the district heating network. This network serves more than 200 houses, commercial units, business centres and the Banchory Sports Village in the local area.
Woodend at Crathes was the location for the second part of the visit, where members of the Leys Estate team explained how the area has been established as a sustainable community asset.
By working in partnership with a diverse range of businesses and organisations, the Estate is creating a unique community which is currently home to Deeside Rugby Club, The Barn, Buchanan Bistro, Deeside Christian Fellowship Church and over 80 community allotments. The Estate are currently working on expanding the offering at Woodend at Crathes to include two new outdoor sports fitness businesses and 24 gold standard sustainable house build plots.
Thank you to Deeside Rugby Club for allowing us to use their fantastic new Club House at Woodend at Crathes to host the group.
